I think that that conversation pretty much confirmed what I've been thinking for a while now. I wonder if I should be more surprised than I am, but...well. It does make sense. It explains some things, too. Heck, I don't know why he was so surprised that I'd worked it out, or at least some of it. It's one of those things that seems really obvious, when you think about it.
...What gets me is that he thinks it matters. He's still Tieria, regardless. I'm not going to change anything because of this, but from his face you'd think I'd uncovered something terrible. Why should it even matter?
...Wonder if anyone else has worked it out? Not that I'd ask - how would you work that into conversation without giving it away if they didn't - but still, I can't imagine I'm the only one to even guess at it.

...I really did think I'd locked this.Well, you're right. In general, people can be pretty negative when it comes to things that are outside what's 'normal'. Still, as far as I'm concerned, you'd have to be pretty heartless to suddenly shun someone you've known for a while because of something they can't change about themselves.

Other people aren't always so understanding, to be honest - in fact, and I'm not proud of this, I've been guilty of it myself once or twice. Point is, when you're the lone person with two hearts, or strange abilities, or, I dunno, modifications or upgrades, it's inevitably gonna leave you isolated in some way.
It's quite sad, really.

...Not a lot of point in locking it, then, if you guys can just get in anyway, huh?...Hm. I guess so, if you let it isolate you. I'd like think it's not about what you've got, or not got, or what you might be or any modifications you might have, and that none of that determines how other people treat you, and especially not how you view yourself. Other people judging you for having two hearts...strange abilities, modifications, or just being anything else outside the norm...gotta be cruel enough without you doing it to yourself as well.
